My Year in Review - 2011

2011 was a fun, but at times difficult year. My life changed in many ways. I was sick for a big portion, but spent the time I did have with my friends. I took a few trips, and just tried my best to enjoy what I have ! Take a look at my 2011 highlights!

January started off with the newly single me! I spent most of my time hanging out with friends, going to parties, and just having fun! My friends are always a 'blast in a glass' and its so much fun to be able to do these things with them! Pictured above, Brooke, Jono, Miranda, Anneli, Laura, and Jordon. There were many more friends that made my month so much fun!

february - 11

In February we took a trip to St. George, and a spur of the moment trip to Vegas while we were there! The first two pictures are from our "hike" up above Dixie rock. We may or may have not lit up a huka while on top of some high rocks... it made for an awesome experience! The bottom two pictures are from Vegas where we went to the Playboy Club and Club Moon and saw DJ Pauly D perform! I knew who he was, but had never watched the show Jersey Shore that he is on... Unfortunately I came home with my curiosity for the show in place, and became addicted! HAHA! It was a great trip!

march - 11

March was a horrible, but amazing month! I spent times with friends at the beginning of the month, and then wake up the next morning feeling deathly ill! I ended up getting pneumonia and was in my bed most of the month. I had already planned a trip to visit Gabby in Texas, so I still went, but once I got home, the travel stress put me back in bed in an even worse state.

april - 11

In April, I was still sick from my pneumonia, but it was getting a tad bit better, so I started going and doing things with friends again. I went to a masquerade party, my first hockey game, and a few bars with some great friends!

may - 11

In May, my best friend/sister graduated from the University of Utah in the social work program. I was able to attend her graduation and it was so much fun to be able to see her and all of her hard work pay off. I was and still am so proud of her and her accomplishments! Me and a few other friends did a fun colors photo shoot this month and ended up with some AMAZING photos! Then, for Memorial Day weekend, Amanda, Miranda, James, Oscar, and I went on a road trip to Moab. We spend the weekend in the sun jeeping, swimming and just having a great time!

june - 11

This June, I was finally able to attend Pride. I was also in the parade for the Pride Empathy Line. It was such a neat experience and I was so happy to be able to show my support! June also marked Britt and I's traditional first 4-wheeling ride up the mountain. Its fun because it sets the tone for a great summer! We drive up to our spot, have some good conversation and just connect her and I. Its a special event that I look forward to every year. We had our first camping trip of the season in June as well. Unfortunately, we were a little pushy for summer to cooperate and mother nature showed us she was still in charge. We ended up getting rained out and packed up our soaking wet camp at 4 AM and came home. It was also the last time we were able to be with Jenelle before she moved to New York.

july - 11

July got better for camping trips and we had an amazing 4th of July weekend trip. I went to Lagoon with my family and we got the old-fashioned picture taken that I've always wanted to do. We had our annual family get together at the park for the 24th of July fireworks in Bountiful. And I got another tattoo (two.. one on each foot, but they go together)... Summer was in full swing and it was a good month!

august - 11

August was full of MANY Sunday trips to Causey reservoir up in norther Utah, a trip down to Moab to go river rafting with my family, and multiple trips to the bar with my friends. Jenelle also came back to town to visit and so did my friend Sophie! It was a great time and it was so good to have them back!

september - 11

In September over Labor Day Weekend, Amanda, Britt, and I took a one night trip up to Jackson Hole. My boss had scored us a free night in a hotel up there so we took advantage and had a blast! We went to a cute little cafe that I fell in love with, had dinner at a nice fancy restaurant, and quickly found out that drinks are way stronger outside of Utah! haha! Later that month, I went to the My Chemical Romance concert at Usana... I had been wanting to see MCR since I first saw them back in 2006! It was so much fun!

october - 11

In October, we decided to go to Wendover for the weekend. While there I ended up winning big on penny slots! haha! Big to be is over $100 so I was very happy!!! Later in the month I went to a few Halloween parties dressed as a sexy pirate and then on the actual day of Halloween, I went to work dressed as Darth Maul from Star Wars. It was a good, fun month!

november - 11

In November, I went on my dream vacation to New York to visit Jenelle. She paid for my flight out there for an early birthday present and it was absolutely amazing experience! We saw all the sights like Times Square, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Soho, and more! It was a weekend I will never ever forget and I am so grateful to have been able to go! Later in the month, we celebrated my birthday by getting a suite at my hotel and then going to the Huka Bar.

december - 11

December was a pretty quiet month up until the last week and a half. Christmas with the family was great. And Jenelle was back in town! I got to go shooting and hit my first clay pigeon. And the new year was brought in with good friends, drinks, and a piñata full of candy, beads, and condoms! haha!

Its been a good year. Lessons have been learned, I've tried to better myself, and I've made, kept, and re-made many friends this year. I am grateful for all of the people in my life. I'm not too sad to see 2011 go, because 2012 is a fresh start and an opportunity to make even better memories and grow!

Current Obsessions - December '11

December was a slow month for me. I am usually a bah-humbug this time of year, but I was able to find things that made me happy this month :) Check them out below!
1. Best BuyThis has got to be the best commercial ever. I laughed so hard every time it came on TV this month. LOVED the series of these that Best Buy did. Very clever and funnehh!

2. Friends With Benefits

This was a great movie! Everything I expected and more! Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis make the cutest most believable couple ever! Here is a sneak peak at one of the scenes that made me laugh SO hard! HERE.

3. My Best Friend

Thank god that my best friend Jenelle came home to visit this month, because with the shit and craziness of this month, I could not have survived without her. She has been so supportive and has constantly let me know she still loves me and always will. She is my rock and what holds me together. I would definitely be lost without her and am so happy to have her as a best friend. Can't wait til she moves home! We will shut this city down!

4. Moneyball

The baseball obsessed freak in me definitely came out when I went to see this movie! It was so amazing! I don't think you can really appreciate how amazingly incredible this movie is, unless you too are a baseball obsessed freak! Seriously so good. Watch the trailer HERE.

5. Christmas

I spent Christmas with my family. The traditional playing of the chimes, gingerbread houses, big delicious feasts, and good quality family time. Not to mention this was the last time we got to talk to my brother before he comes home in March. This is a picture of me and my Mason on Christmas Eve. When all is said and done, my bah-humbugness disappeared for a short 24 hours... long enough for me to enjoy the only thing that truly matters; my family.

6. Guns

On New Years Eve day, I was invited to go up above the 'B' in Bountiful to shoot some guns. I was ecstatic! Here I'm shooting a hand gun, I believe it was a nine? I also was able to shoot a shot gun and hit my first clay pigeon! I was so excited! It gave me an huge adrenaline rush and a rush of joy and happiness, which was a nice break from the funk I've been in. I should do it more often :) Any takers?

7. Friendship

New Years Eve I was able to fix a friendship with my dear friend Gabby. Whether the alcohol facilitated the make up or not, I am grateful regardless! haha. So happy to have her back in my life! :)

8. Goodbye, 2011

Spent the last day of 2011 with some of the best people I know! It was a PARTY for sure and I am grateful that I was able to be with them! I love you all, and 2012... here we go!

This month was non-stop craziness! Vacation, my birthday, Thanksgiving, and lots of music and movies! Look at what comsumed my month of November.1. Apes&Franco
On my flight to New York I purchased 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' via the ever so convenient In-Flight Entertainment system on Frontier Airlines. I've never been too interested in the Planet of the Apes movies, but this had my boyfriend James Franco so I had to check it out. It was suprisingly very entertaining! HERE is a preview for you.

I'm always addicted to pizza... horrible I know... but this month I got on a kick of Papa Murphy's pizza! It tastes so much more fresh and isn't too bad on the wallet! YUM!

5. How I Met Your Mother

I'd kind of heard people talking about this show, but it was never really reccomended to me, and then I started watching and oh my god! LOVE it! So hilarious! And I LOVE Niel Patrick Harris! If you haven't watched, START!

9. Birthday Celebration

For my birthday with my friends, we were going to go to Wendover, but since that got cancelled due to the big snow storm, we got a suite at my hotel and then went to Huka Bar. I was very drunk and had lots of fun! Great way to celebrate and bring in year 23!

10. The Gaga Train

I've always like Lady Gaga's music, but this month I can now say I am officially on the Gaga Train! She is so amazing. I watched her Thanksgiving special which was amazing! She has pure natural talent and has such an amazing artistic eye! So amazing. My favorite song of hers right now is 'You and I'. I could listen to it over and over, so you should too! HERE.

Current Obsessions - Special NEW YORK Edition '11

This month was I took a very special, long awaited trip to NEW YORK! So its only right that I have a special edition of Current Obsessions. Check out the high lights from my trip!
1. Waking Up in NY

My first morning in New York, I sat down in a cute little house, and had this breakfast. :) It made me feel like it was all really happening and things were just bright and full of promise! Seeing the New York Times on the breakfast table was a big turning point where I was like, "Oh my God... I'm really here!" Such a cool feeling!

2. Ground Zero

My first night we went to Ground Zero. Unfortunately we missed our reservation so I wasn't able to go inside to see the memorial, but we walked around and I got to peek through the construction walls and see the hole where the towers used to stand. It was such an overwhelming feeling walking around that part of the city. At one point I saw a bit of white paper being carried through the air by the wind, and my mind thought about all the ash that must have flown through that air ten years ago.. It was a very humbling experience. May we NEVER forget.

3. Times Square

Times Square was when it finally, full on hit me, 'I'm in New York City!' We parked on a side street and walked towards everything and as I turned the corner, there it all was! I was so overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude for being able to be there that I started crying. It was so amazing to be in a place that I have wanted to go to for so long, but have only seen in movies and pictures! The energy was so alive and more than I expected! It was a rush and I could have sat there on those red steps for days just watching and soaking it all in!

4. Black&White

My friend Casey had told me about the infamous black & white cookie. So before we got in line for tickets to SNL (which we didn't end up scoring by the way), I stopped at a little food mart on the side street and saw that they had these cookies! I was excited to try one! And boy, they sure did not disappoint! So yummy! I may have to go back to NYC specifically to get another one!

5. Carlo's Bake Shop

After sleeping in our car for two hours, we decided to drive to Jersey at 6 AM in order to be there by the time Carlo's Bakery opened! If you don't know, Carlo's Bakery is known for their TV show called 'Cake Boss' with Buddy!! We were so excited to go there and purchase a cup cake! And even though we got there right when they opened, we still waited half an hour before we were able to make our purchase! Just shows how delicious and popular they are! It was a fun little side trip!

6. Ellis Island

Ellis Island was a very cool stop on my tour of New York. The history was almost haunting and it was so cool to think of how many people had made there way through there. We spent hours walking through and just looking at everything! I could have spend days reading all there was to read and learn about! I'll definitely have to go back when I can spend more time there!

7. Lady Liberty

This picture shows the few moments when I first saw the Statue of Liberty's face. I didn't look at her face while riding on the ferry towards the island. And standing there looking up at this iconic figure was so very overwhelming. Again, something I've wanted to see for a very long time, was finally right in front of me. It was another humbling experience during that trip. So amazing to actually be standing there looking up at history.

8. RENT

Probably my absolute FAVORITE experience of my trip was being able to see my favorite musical 'Rent'!!! The musical itself is so good, but being able to see it IN New York, took it to a whole other level! I felt sooooo thankful for the opportunity to be there and I think while I sat watching the show was when I realized how rare of an opportunity I was experiencing! Did I mention we had front row seats?! Absolutely amazing!

9. Fuerza Bruta

This show was something I really didn't know anything about, but my friend Casey had raved about it for months and months after seeing it and insisted I check it out! At first I was so confused, but after a while, I just let go, stopped trying to analyze everything and enjoyed the performance. I still can't really tell you what it was about exactly, but I know it was way cool! I think its kind of up to your own interpretation of what you want it to mean. So if you are in NYC, definitely check out this show! Its so different and exciting and opens your mind up to creativity while you figure out what it means to you!

10. Ripley's Believe it or Not!

My last night in NYC, we went back to Times Square, and we ran into Ripley's. I had never been to one, so I thought might as well check it out! It was shocking, horrifying, and fun all at the same time! I learned a lot of random facts and had a great time taking pictures! It all was very interesting!

11. Jenelle

The best part of New York, was being able to experience it all with my best friend. I was so happy to be able to go and visit Jenelle and even more thankful for her flying me out there. It was a trip of a lifetime and I will never forget it! Thank you for everything Jenelle! I love you!

So for now, NYC, I will bid adieu... and will dream of the time when we will meet again!

Current Obsessions - October '11

Spooks and thrills filled my month of October! Also a lot of laughter and a few shamless tears were shed on my part. Take a look at what was a big part of my month!

1. Spotify

This month, my friend Casey introduced me to Spotify that lets you create and listen to play lists. Its nice because you can look up almost any song and play it right when you want to hear it. Its a nice little extra that gives me choices while I'm at work. Love it.

2. Wendover

This month, a few friends and I went to Wendover for an over night getaway trip. I played my first official poker game while I was there which I was very excited about. I ended up being down some money and decided to just try my luck at the penny machines and what do you know, I ended up coming home $115 dollars richer! Woohoo!

3. Horrible Bosses

I really really wanted to see this movie and finally got the chance this month. It was so freaking funny! The previews did not do it justice on how damn funny it turned out to be! I loved the characters and just everything! Side splitting laughter! This will definitely be in my personal DVD collection soon!

4. Jason Bateman

I've known for a few months that Jason Bateman was up and coming on my favorite actors list, and after the above mentions Horrible Bosses, I was no longer able to put off the addition any longer. He is so funny and has this quirky sexuality about him and I love it!

5. 'Shake Senora'

I stumbled upon this little wonder this month and its been rocking my car stereo ever since. I loved the original when I first heard it in the movie 'Beetlejuice' and then when I heard this with Pitbull, I couldn't resist! Love it! Take a LISTEN and you'll fall in love too!

6. Halloween Lights

This month's YouTube sensation was the 'Halloween Lights' of Riverside, CA.

9. Best Friends

This month I spent a lot of time with two of my best friends, Laura and Brittany. We had a ton of fun and had small get togethers where we made caramel apples one night, and carved pumpkins another. Its times like those when I am so thankful for good, true friends that I know will always be there for me.

10. WORLD CHAMPIONS 2011

Words cannot describe my joy this month while watching the post season of baseball. When my Cardinals made it to the World Series, I was beyond estatic! But then, they went and did something amazing! After a historic game 6 come back, and then WINNING game 7, we were crowned the 2011 champions! Talk about an awesome series, and a very happy Cardinals fan here in Utah :)

11. Halloween

This year for my work Halloween party, I dressed up as Darth Maul from Star Wars. Many thanks to my mom who got up at 5 AM to help me with my make up! What do you think? I think it turned out pretty damn bad ass!

Pre-Winter Blues

With the temperature drop and the earlier nights starting to set in, its been more and more of a struggle for me to keep a positive attitude. I really dislike the cold, dark, winter months. And while they aren't fully here yet, I can feel my insides bracing themselves for the inevitable.

I know that a lot of my winter blues come from past experiences. This time of year always reminds me of the worst time in my life and so I think I associate the winter months, Christmas, cold and darkness with the horrible depression I suffered through that time. Now, I really dislike them all.

I'm not sure what to do. I know the most logical solution would be to move somewhere that didn't snow and the lowest the temperature ever dropped was 70, but I don't have the courage to take a big chance like that. I wish I did. I wish I could take a chance because I'll never get this part of my life back again.

So if I seem like a bah-humbug throughout the upcoming holidays, please don't take anything personal... Its my own issue and I've just got to work through it and keep looking forward to when summer returns next year.

Celebrating 100!!!

A big 'THANK YOU' to all of my readers! And a big 'THANK YOU' to all of you joining me here for my 100th blog post!!!

I've been thinking long and hard about what I should do for this post because I knew it was approaching. There were a lot of different ideas that came to mind, but the one I finally decided on is to reflect on a comment made to me that was short and simple, but one that has made a huge impact on my life.

A year ago tomorrow, I had a very good friend leave me a comment on facebook. His words have stuck with me ever since and I have tried to live my life as the person he saw me to be back then. This was his comment...

"Thank you Nicole for standing up for what you believe in (even if it may not be popular). Over the years, without the support from people like you-- women would still not be allowed to vote and black people would be forced to use different drinking fountains. I honor and respect your courage and loving heart, and I thank you. God is surely proud."

I will never forget how much those words touched me and how much emotion I was filled with inside. I strive every day to stand up for what I believe in and I try to be the best person I can. I have strong opinions and I want to make my difference in this world.

So, the biggest thank you of all, goes to my friend, for showing me that he is proud of me and the person I am. It means so much to know that from someone I care about and I can only hope I make others proud of me as well.

I've loved summer, and this month, things have started to cool down and slow down with the fall/winter months quickly approaching! BOO :(

1. my chemical romance

This month I was lucky enough to have one of my friends take me to the Blink 182/My Chemical Romance concert! I was personally more excited to see MCR than Blink! HAHA! I love them and LOVE to see them perform live! I wish they would have kept going all night long! It was such a great concert!

2. My Best Friend

(BFFFL)

I've always known how much my Britto means to me, but this month we were able to spend a lot more time together than we usually do and it was so good to be reminded of how much I love this girl and how I would do absolutely anything for her. We're BFFFL (best friends for fuckin' life) and thats how it will be forever!

3. Jackson Hole

For Labor day weekend I scored us a free room up at a hotel in Jackson Hole through my boss and so, Britt, Amanda, and I drove up for a night! It was so much fun! I laughed so hard, had some great times, created some great memories, and came up with new inside jokes with some great people. Wish we could have stayed longer!

4. Fruit Salsa

My mom, being amazing and all, found this recepie for fruit salsa! And it is UH-MAZE-ING! And you don't just used regular chips... No, no my friends, she made cinnamon-sugar tortilla chips! So good! It was gone pretty quickly, so I can't wait for the next batch!

6. Colombiana

This month I went to see the movie Colombiana at the Gateway with a few friends. I had seen previews and was way excited to see the movie. And it sure didn't dissapoint! This will be a future addition to my movie collection! Check out the preview HERE.

7. HAHA!

This month, while browsing through the app "Stumble Upon" on my phone, I came across this comic... and could NOT stop laughing! I don't know why, but his face at the end kills me and every time I see it, sends me into a fit of laughter!

8. Pinterest

My friend Brooke posted something from this site called 'Pinterest'... I was very intrigued! So I asked her for an invite and joined and have since become OBSESSED! Pinning new things every day, browsing through others pins... I even got my mom addicted! Its such a smart idea and a fun website to join!

9. Person of Interest

This month was the start of all the new shows on TV... one that I was particularly interested in seeing was 'Person of Interest' with Jim Caviezel. Oh boy, had I sure forgotten how much I am seriously attracted to this man! The show is great too! There have only been two episodes so far, but they are actually pretty damn good! 10. Julia Stiles in Dexter

This month, Dexter season 5 finally came to DVD so I was able to get caught up! After last season's SHOCKING finale, I was skeptical that it could get any better! This season was just as great! I think season 4 will forever be the best, but this one was just as good! Julia Stiles comes with great energy, and the relationship between her character and Dexter is just so captivating! This show has quickly made it up the list to one of my top 3 favorite shows of all time!

11. Jersey Shore
This month I harnessed my inner guido, and found myself obsession over the new season of Jersey Shore. haha! Its nothing but a show filled with drama, but as I have been watching it reminds me SO MUCH of my life about a year and a half ago... (Going out every night, dealing with my friends relationship drama, etc)! It's so crazy! haha! After seeing DJ Pauly D perform at Club Moon in Vegas earlier this year, my curiousity about the show finally got the best of me! My favorite Jersey Shore cast memeber is Vinny... Yeah... I may have a little guido crush! Now I find myself addicted and will have to go back and watch the previous seasons! Thank God for Blockbuster!

Current Obsessions - August '11

1. Causey Sunday

This month I went up to Causey Resevoir for the first time and I had so much fun. We jumped off rocks into the water and floated around the resevoir on our inner tubes (floaties) drinking beer and having a relaxing time! We decided to make it our summer Sunday tradition and have been up almost every Sunday since! I have such a great time and am so happy to have created such a fun summer tradition with some of my closest friends!

2. Summer BBQ's

My friends are pretty much the shit, and this summer we have not let the beautiful warmth and sunshine go to waste. Our summer get-togethers/BBQ's have been the best. Grilling up some meat and sitting around chatting with my besties, drinking beer, and relaxing... it just doesn't get much better than that!

3. New Ink

I technically got my most recent set of ink the very last day of July, but I have been enjoying it this month so that's why it made it onto this obsessions list! I got a new tattoo (technically two new tattoo's -- one on each foot!) On my right foot it reads "I have lived through this horror" and on the left foot it reads "I can take the next thing that comes along". Its from an Eleanor Roosevelt quote that I've loved for a long time. The quote is below.

4. BFF's Reunite

This month I got both of my besties in the same month! Sophie came to visit from England and Jenelle came home from New York for a few weeks. I was so happy to be able to spend time with them, but each time they leave it just keeps getting harder. Maybe we should all just buy a house together in California and then we won't have to deal with the goodbye's!

5. Sublime

This month I won tickets from Darby on 94.9 ZRock to go to the Sublime/311 concert at Usana. I had remembered Jenelle saying she really wanted to go, so I called her immediately! I didnt realize the concert was that same night! haha! So she got ready and headed down to Salt Lake and we headed out to enjoy the concert! I've heard both bands before, but I wasn't as into them as Jenelle was, but after leaving, I can say I am completely obsessed with Sublime now! They were amazing live and I've had their tunes rocking from my ear buds ever since!

6. Bridesmaids

This month I FINALLY went to see the movie Bridesmaids. My friend Casey had been raving about this movie ever since it first came out and so I figured I was more than over due! I was laughing so hard! Definitely rated 'R' for a reason, but oh my god, HILARIOUS! Take a peak HERE.

7. Just Go With It

I rented this movie from Blockbuster this month and I really quite enjoyed it! Jennifer Anistor and Adam Sandler make a surprising great couple! I normally can't stand the sappy romantic comedies (because none of it really ever happens in real life), but this was one that at the end I was able to say, "Oh okay, that was a cute one." 8. Moab Adventure

I went river rafting for the first time this month down in Moab with my family and their friends! I loved it so much! I want to go back down and go rafting with my friends because I had such a great time! I love adventure and being outside in the sun, so this was the perfect summer activity for me!

9-11. Adele, Linkin Park, Lil Wayne

A few songs that have really stuck out this month are "Someone Like You" by Adele (this song means LOADS to me!), "Iridecent" by Linkin Park, and "How to Love" by Lil Wayne. Take a listen and enjoy!

12. No Strings Attached

This movie is one of the romantic comedies that was so good that it will, and actually already HAS made it to my DVD collection! It was SO funny! Me, Jenelle, Brittany, and Sophie watched it one night and could not stop laughing! My favorite quote from the movie is "You look like a pumpkin bitch!" haha! 13. Skrillex

I was introduced to Skrillex this month and FELL IN LOVE! Its a different type of music than I'm used to listening to, but its AWESOME!!! Take a listen HERE.

The other day I was listening to my Josh Groban station on Pandora. (If any of you don't know what Pandora is like, basically it plays whichever artist you pick, along with other songs and artists that are similar.) Anyways, the song "When You Say You Love Me" by Josh Groban comes on... I skip it because of the hurtful memories it brings back. The VERY next song that came up was "Come What May" from the Moulin Rouge Soundtrack... wow.. what an utterly painful coincidence, and I skip it for the very same reason. Not expecting anything more from it, I tossed my phone on my bed and went back to folding my clothes when I heard the first notes of "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith come through the speakers.... :( I turned Pandora off after that.

The pain that these songs bring back is still almost unbarable, even almost four years later. I know that because of what happened back on October 19, 2007, I don't allow myself to open myself up FULLY to anyone else. I don't trust people. And I don't take very many chances on people and when I do, I don't give them my all. I don't know what to do. In a way I feel like I never really got closure. It all happened so fast and so abrubtly. I remember the night it happened like it was yesterday. I can still feel that pain, as though my world came crashing down on me yesterday. Not a day has passed in the past four years that I have not thought about it.

Lately thought I've been thinking about it a lot more. I don't want to though. I don't want to hurt. I don't want this pain. I wish so badly I could forget what broke me into the crumbs of a person I feel I am today. I don't know how to fix it. I don't know what to do. :(

A couple months ago, I re-purchased the movie Moulin Rouge (BIG step for me)... And attempted watching. BIG mistake. A couple hours and a box of used tissues later, I realized that the pain, no matter how hard I wish it away, will always be there, hiding deep inside me so no one, not even those closest to me, will ever see how much its truely tearing me apart.

I honestly don't know what to do.

1. Camping

This month we took our second camping trip of the summer and it was a blast! We had about 8 people show up and it was so much fun to just chill with some of my closest friends. It was the 4th of July weekend so we were able to see all the amature fireworks displays throughout the entire valley. Definitely one of the best to date even tho I did get hurt with my little fall down the mountain. Haha. Wouldn't give up these experiences for the world!

2. Planking

I heard about planking a few months ago but I wasn't really sure what it was or its purpose. This month I finally learned what it was, and realized there is absolutely no purpose! HAHA! Me, Britt and my brother Erik were able to get some pretty awesome shots for first time plankers! I'm excited to participate in the absolutely ridiculous internet phenomenon!

3. Family Tradition

Every year for the 24th of July, my family goes to the Muller Park fireworks in Bountiful. They are my favorite and I love the tradition of going early, eating dinner, playing games, and then yelling "BOOM" when our favorite firework goes off! haha! This year was a lot of fun and also marked the last year we have to experience them without my brother Christopher! It was also the first year my little cousin Mason could walk and run around and play with us all. He's so adorable! I love my family to death!

4. Davis Fireworks

This year, for the first time, I went to the Davis High fireworks for teh 4th of July. It was a pretty good show and I enjoyed being with my family. My little cousins Terrance and Jorin and the best and being able to spend time with them was great! They are getting so big and I love that I'm able to see them as much as I do!

5. Blockbuster

This month, Netflix decided to raise their prices by 62%... needless to say I would not have it! So, I cancelled my subscription and started looking for alternatives! I found Blockbuster and it was like a match made in heaven. Although they don't have instant streaming, they have so much more of a selection and their selection I dont have to wait months after the DVD comes out before I am able to rent! They also have my two main TV shows that were taken off of the Netflix menu. In the end, I know I chose the better company!

6. Captain America

Captain America, another movie in the Avengers series, came out this month. I went to the midnight showing with Jordon and Britt. While is wasn't the best Avengers movie, it wasn't at all a bad movie! In fact I loved it just the same! Not to mention the amazing eye candy that is Chris Evans gracing my eyes on the screen! He easily made it to the top 10 in my list of celeb hotties! I highly reccomend this movie and I can't wait for all of the Avengers to team up in their own movie next summer!

7. 'Comin' In Hot'

The new party rock song for sure! Britt and I continuously bump this track any time we are partying together! Its the best!

8. Harry Potter 7p2

This month marked the end of an era! It was so bitter sweet! The final chapters of Harry Potter came to an end with the second half of the last movie! You bet I was there at midnight ready to see what was the end of my childhood. I went with Jordon and Britt (my midnight movie buddies) and we had the best time! I had chills from the very first scene and was in tears towards the end! Yep, count me in the ranks of the Harry Potter nerds. I'm proud to be one!

9. Ranch + French Fries

My co-worker introduced me to the combination of french fries and ranch dressing. Where the HELL have I been hiding?! It is probably the most tasteful this to grace my tongue in a long time! So yummy and I found myself with the un-healthy craving for french fries all month long! haha!

My friends are my life. They help me through my trials and laugh with me during my happiest moments. They have all shaped me to become the person I am today. Each and every one of my friends, past & present have played a very important role in my life. Whether we are close now, or we used to be close, I want every single one of you to know how much you mean to me. There are many friends that I still consider very good friends, but the friends I am going to talk about in this blog are those that I am very close with right now. I'm going to talk about how we met and became friends -- in chronological order. :)

My oldest and closest friend is Laura Elizabeth Dalby Fallis. We met in first grade back at Boulton Elementary School... and we HATED each other! HAHA! Whenever people ask how long we have been friends we always go back to the story of when she would chase me at recess. She would charge and just before she got to me, I would step aside and she'd run right past me making her even more mad. Between first and fourth grade we would go to each others birthday parties and such, but sometime in fourth grade we started hanging out more and more. When I moved from Bountiful to Kaysville at the end of fourth grade we had become the best of friends. Every weekend was spent having sleep overs at one of the others house. We have some of the best memories together and our friendship has only grown since then. She is the closest thing I have ever had to a sister. Now that she's married, I don't see her as much as I used to, but we will get together often and we always have a blast when we do.

Next we have Mr. Jordon Cahoon. I met Jordon when I was probably 11 or 12 years old and I had the biggest crush on him! We met because our two younger brothers played on the same baseball team. So that meant every Saturday morning, I would get up early and do my hair and make-up and then head to the ball fields with my family in anticipation of seeing Jordon. I remember one time I chased him all the way around the baseball field... I think he liked the attention ;) We never really hung out back then except at the ball park, but a few years ago, we started hanging out and going out to the bars and clubs together and I have him to thank for introducing me to a lot of my closest friends that will be mentioned later on. He's such a good friend and definitely the closest guy friend that I have. He's my midnight movie premier buddy to all the new shows we want to see! He is also someone I know I can talk to about anything and get the honest to God truth about the matter. He's kind of a big deal ;) haha!

Jenelle Leah O'Meara -- I met Jenelle in high school because we were both on the yearbook staff. We would hang out together when we were with my our friend Megan, but we were never really close until the summer after my junior year. That summer my family was going jet skiing with some family friends and my mom suggested I invite her, so I did! After that day it was like we were inseperable. We became such good friends so fast and we did absolutely everything together. Jenelle and I have had our ups and downs, but I think its helped us become as close as we are today. I think that everything we've been through together has helped us know that we can always count on the other to be there. Jenelle was the sole person that helped me through the, hands down, most difficult time in my life. She was there helping me the night it happened, took me to get taco bell, and then later held my hair while I threw it up. She is the definition of a good friend and I wouldn't change a thing that has happened between us because we wouldn't be where we are now.

Also the summer after my junior year is when my BFFFL came into my life, Brittany Lee Coleman. It was actually the last day of school my junior year when my good friend Brandon Stotts and I went down to the supply room at the high school where we ran into Britt. Brandon had always told me that if I ever met his friend/neighbor Brittany that he knew we would become instant friends. Well, he was right. The next year, Britt joined yearbook staff and we became close. Since high school, she has grown to become one of my friends that I know will ALWAYS be there. She keeps me grounded and level headed. She is the one I go to when ever I need a nice kick in the ass the get it together. I don't know what I would do without her.

Back in July of 2009, on the night I like to refer to as 'BNE'.. No, not breaking and entering, but rather BEST NIGHT EVER, I met Sophie Lucken. I was helping out the front desk of my hotel when a gentleman staying at our hotel walked in the front door and asked the bellman where the Avalon theater was. Since I was going there later that night I spoke up and said the exact address! The man walked over and started talking to me saying that his daughter was there and was planning on going to the concert alone and was it near enough that she could walk. So I offered to give her a ride! The night ended up being one that I won't soon forget! Sophie had back stage passes and we got to meet the band before the show... Not only that, but once we met Martin, he hooked us up with VIP back stage passes for the entire show! After the show, Jenelle joined us back stage and they band invited us onto the bus for an after party! It was the best night of my life. The only downfall to this whole relationship is that Sophie lives in England so I dont get to see her as often as I like, but she came out to visit the following summer and is planning on coming this summer! She's such a sweet and beautiful person and I am so happy that fate helped us meet and become such good friends!

A Jordan thank you is, Miranda Caldwell. We were at Sandbar one night and Jordon brought Miranda out to party with us. I wasn't sure about her at first cuz I didnt really take the time to get to know her, but now that I know her Oh My Hell this woman! I love her! We have really bonded and I really enjoy the times we have spent together. Our biggest thing is our poker nights. Its so much fun and I'm so happy I have another girl to share that passion of mine with.

While I was living in Bountiful, we had a party once night to piss my roommates off (another long story.. haha), but only Gabby ended up coming and she brought someone else with her. Her name is Cara Olson! This was the infamous night of the drippy drops and rolleecoaster! Cara and I polished off an entire bottle of smirnoff raspberry rum and lets just say we were very very drunk and quite hilarious if I do say so myself! Since then Cara and I have shared some very close moments/talks about life and she is a wonderful friend.

At another one of Gabby's infamous parties, Miranda brought her friend Amanda Bearden to join in on the festivities! Again, I wasn't sure about Amanda at first, but after a few times of hanging out with her I grew to love her to death! The first night we met was the night of the cold hot tub! We all got in the hot tub hoping that if we fidgeted with the knobs enough that it would eventually get warm... Alas it did not and we ended up sitting there in a cold hot tub for hours! It only started to warm up after I finally gave up and got out! haha! Since then Amanda and I have grown very close. We talk about everything and she gives me her advice. I look up to her because she has accomplished so much and she is truely a role model to me.

Last but definitely not least, Miss Brooke Anderson. Brooke's placement in this whole list was hard because Brooke and I knew each other back in high school, and then we hung out when we both were dating a couple a doughe bag friends. But it wasn't until last October when Brooke and I finally started hanging out on a regular basis. Brooke came to my Halloween party and since then its just been nothing but fun. I honestly consider her as one of my best friends. She is so much fun to hang out with and party with and I am so glad that we are close now. :) Along with Brooke is her boyfriend Jonathan Halling! He is seriously such a good friend to me and I appreciate how kind he is to me. I am so glad that Brooke has someone like him in her life. Jono is one of my best guy friends! The fun we have at parties is the best! I'm thankful to have met him!

I hope you have enjoyed hearing about all my friends and how we met! Each of them have a fun little memory with them and I would not be complete without each and every one of them in my life :)

Driving home yesterday from work was just like any other day. I had already kicked off my shoes, had the window down to feel the sun on my skin, and was listening to music on my iPhone... okay, okay... the music was blasting through my car speakers. It's a great feeling, summer. I love driving in the summer, no matter where the destination. Its a great feeling to have the wind whipping through my hair and singing at the top of my lungs.

I've been crying a lot lately when I'm alone and I've also been really depressed. I'm not saying that this particular summer drive cured everything that has been going on with me, but it did help me think. Thats another reason I like having a longer commute. I like being able to think. To just be alone and think. Yesterday I was thinking a lot about things that have been bothering me and what I need to do. First of all I want anyone who is concerned about me to know that even though I am still pretty depressed over a few things right now, I still know that life is worth too much. I have been through a hell of a lot worse and have made it through, so this is just a phase and I know from experience things will eventually get better.

A song came on while I was driving yesterday called 'Fly' by Nicki Minaj with Rihanna. The first part of that song is really the only part I like. It starts with Rihanna singing "I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive, I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise, to fly..." I really like that part of the song. I have NEVER been one to just not fight to win. I am so competitive that its not funny, so why I would ever think of giving up on life completely is stupid of me. I'm going to win, I'll fight to the end, and I'm going to conquer life. I have so many goals that I want to achieve and I know that it will just take a bit of time before I am able to start persuing those goals.

I'm here to stay. I'm doing my best and taking it a day at a time.
Thanks for the concern, but I'll be okay. Let me do my thing and I'll work it out.

My blog got a face lift this month, along with my current obsessions list! Check out other things that rocked my month of June!

1. Tradition

This month, Britt and I took our tradiational first 4 wheeling trip up the mountain and hiked down to the river. I love the first trip we take every year. Britt and I are able to talk and reflect and it just sets a great tone for the summer ahead. Love you Britto! Thanks for sharing it with me every year.

2. Pride

This year I finally made it to the Pride festival! I was in the parade taking picture for the Pride Empathy Line and then went to the festival grounds after that! It was so hot outside, but I got myself an ice cold beer and was able to enjoy the festivities! I was happy to be able to show my support for all of my wonderful friends!

3. Summer

The last half of this month has finally started to feel like summer! Thank goodness! I was able to lay in my parents hammock and it was just perfect! Hello summer! You have been missed dearly!

4. Camping

Summer calls for camping! And we had our first offical camping trip of the season this month! Loved it! It was so much fun to spend time with some of my closest friends! We ended up getting rained on and were up at 5 AM packing up camp and heading down the mountain, but I wouldn't have changed a thing! It was so much fun! Can't wait for more trips!

5. Email

Twice this month, I've been lucky enough to be on the computer at the same time my brother was on in South Africa. This means I've been able to email him back and forth for a good few hours each time! I was so excited! It was so good to be able to talk to him like that. It makes me feel like he's that much closer! Its nice to be able to talk to him because he is really the only one I can tell ANYTHING to and know for a fact he will not judge me. I miss him like crazy, but being able to talk to him has helped so much!

6. Ruffles

This month, my friend Casey got me hooked on these chips! UGGH! They are soooo delicious! But we came to the conclusion that since they say 0% trans fat that we're in the clear! haha!

7. 'Lighters'

May was a month of entertainment for me! New movies, new music, new tv shows, and even a new hobby! Take a look at what consumed my wonderful month of May!

1. Patriotic Songs

On May 1st, we all heard that the US had killed Osama Bin Laden. The following weeks, songs by Toby Keith, Darryl Worley, and Alan Jackson found themselves gracing my iPod speakers frequently. It was a great reminder of how I felt back on September 11, 2001 and also reminded me of the great patriotism that I have inside of me. These songs still give me chills to this day every time I listen to them.

2. Once

Thanks to "Casey-Flix" I've been able to broaden my taste in movies the past couple months. This month I watched a film that was a part of Sundance. Once is an amazing movie with an AMAZING soundtrack! My favorite song is 'Say It To Me Now."

3. Graduation

This month I was able to go watch my best friend graduate from the University of Utah in social work! I was so proud of her! I couldn't help but shed some tears when she walked into the auditorium wearing her cap and gown. I know how hard she has worked for this and I know she will be an amazing social worker! Love you Britto!

4. Johnny's on Second

I started going to Johnny's on Second this month to play poker with Jon and Miranda and I absolutely fell in love. Of course since we're in Utah, you don't play for money, but its still fun just the same! I get lots of practice and get to hang out with my friends every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and sometimes Thursday nights! haha! Free entertainment and a new hobby! What more could you ask for! haha!
5. 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain'

I know I've heard this song many, many times before, but this month it kept coming up on Pandora and I got addicted! It has since been on repeat multiple times! You just have to really sit back and listen to really appreciate this song!

6. Long Distance Phone Calls

This month, once again, a long distance phone call made me the happiest person ever for about 10 minutes :) I got to talk to my brother in South Africa on Mother's Day. He didn't get to talk for very long, but it was SOOOOOOOO good to hear his voice! I can't even begin to tell you how much I miss him and can't wait for him to be home!

7. Crash

9. Weeds

This show is awesome! I loved the first season and can't wait to watch all the rest! Definitely my new TV show obsession!

13. The Hasty Heart

I went on a date to see this play this month. I had no idea what the play was about, I had never even heard of it. But by the end of the play I was in tears and very much involved in the story. The actors were AMAZING! One of my favorite plays every by far!

14. The Hangover Part II

The Wolf Pack is BACK bitches!!!! I waited to impatiently for this sequal and it did not disappoint! I love it! It was the only midnight premier this month that I didnt struggle to stay awake through because I was so damn excited! Check out what you're missing here!

15. 'Party Rock Anthem'

16. 127 Hours

We went to Moab for Memorial Day weekend and ended up watching this movie the first day we were there before we went hiking and jeeping and such. It. Was. Amazing! James Franco did an excellent job! He is such a talented actor and the movie had me captivated the whole time. I was very much intears by the end of the movie. Well done to all of those involved! If you have not seen it, you are really, really missing out. Sneak a peak here.

17. Moab

Moab with my besties. Best vacation in a LONG, LONG time. Thanks for an amazing relaxing vacations guys :)

This month was a month of movies, music and apps! Check it out!!!
1. Chicago

This month, my friend Casey started his own "netflix-esque" service for me and has been introducing me to a bunch of really great shows that I haven't seen yet. Chicago was one of the first one and I loved it! There are few musicals that really get me to fall in love and I was hooked during this show. If you haven't seen it, I highly reccomend it. My favorite song from the show was one Queen Latifa sang called 'When You're Good to Mama'... check it out!

2. 'Look at Me Now'
by Chris Brown ft.Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes

I stumbled onto this song one day when I was watching MTV's top 20 or something like that and I fell in love with it. It has such a different sound and I love listening to it in my car with the volume turned wayyyyyyyy up! One of the raps is just over the top insane crazy good too! Watch the music video HERE.

3. Love Actually

The second movie that Casey gave me to watch was Love Actually. I'm ususally not one for a romantic comedy, but I really enjoyed this movie. It was so cute and definitely one I would watch again.

4. 'All of the Lights'

by Kanye West ft. Rihanna and Kid Cudi

This song is just amazing! I love the music video especially! But don't watch if you have photosensitive epilepsy... its a crazy cool video and song! HERE.

5. Instagram

This is an app that I found on my iPhone that I've fallen in love with. Basically its kind of like the facebook/twitter idea, except its only pictures. You can follow people and see they new pictures they upload and upload your own pictures. Its great! It lets me be creative and get a little feed back as so what people like.

6. Words with Friends

This is another app on my iPhone that I've been addicted to. Words with Friends is basically just scrabble on my phone and I get to play random people all over the world. I seriously have like 15 games going right now, but some of them I've been playing for over 5 days because not everyone plays one move after the other. Its so much fun!

7. ICONic Boyz

This season on America's Best Dance Crew, I was happily surprised to find this crew! They are absolutely amazing! I enjoy watching them dance! Their very first performance was so good and had the perfect comedic element that made me laugh so hard! Love it! I'm rooting for them to win! Watch the performance HERE. You won't be disappointed!

8. "Don't You Wanna Stay"

I love this song! Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson have the most compatible duet voices! ENJOY!

9. Sex and the City

Casey got me to absolutely fall in love with Miranda, Samantha, Carrie and Charolette this month! In the month of April I watched all 6 seasons and the first movie of Sex and the City. (I'm currently waiting to borrow the second movie from someone else, other wise I would have it watched by the end of the month as well!) haha! I love this show! I am sad it took so long for me to discover it!

10. Ke$ha

This month, two of Ke$ha's songs have been frequently coming out of my speakers. Sleazy and Blow are both awesome tunes to crank up really loud while I'm driving.

11. Mason William Tracy

This month I've been able to hang out with my cousin Mason a lot and I love it. He is so adorable and I love being able to spend time with him. Not to mention his smile makes me melt. I would do anything for him I love him so much.

12. "Rolling in the Deep"

I've heard about Adele for a long time now, but I just recently listened to one of her songs, Rolling in the Deep and I fell in love. I absolutely LOVE her voice! Its so different sounding and is seriously amazing! Have a listen HERE.

13. Every Avenue

I stumbled onto a new band this month called Every Avenue. They are a really great band and have a great sound. My favorite song so far is called Tell Me I'm a Wreck. I love the lyrics SO MUCH! Listen HERE, and maybe you'll have a new band to add to your iPod.

14. FastFive

I went and saw the midnight premiere last night and OH.MY.GOD.EPIC!!!!! I loved it! These movies are always so bad ass, but this one was just amazing! (Maybe because I got drunk before I went to the movie...haha!) But even the little tid-bit they put in the middle of the credits --SPOILER ALERT-- giving them way to create another Fast and Furious movie was the BEST! They whole theater screamed "OH MY GOD" when we saw the little extra bit at the end! So good! So crazy! So freaking good!!!! Here is the trailer if you haven't seen it yet! HERE.

I am feeling very at peace with life and the universe today. I am very calm and relaxed and things just seem okay in general. I love this feeling. Sitting here listening to 'A Walk to Remember' soundtrack and contemplating a sure to be spectacular weekend, I just feel wonderful!

I've been back on a huge Switchfoot kick recently and their music is such that it puts me in a great optomistic mood! Such a plesant change in my thinking process.

This is just one of those songs that I've been listening to.

Change

I need some sort of change in my life. Not necessarily right away, but I need something to look forward to.
I've thought about moving out of the state and working somewhere new for a while, but I like the security I feel when it comes to my job and I'm not sure I am willing to give that up.

My first thought was to move to Vegas. The rent is cheap there and I can get a bigger apartment for about the same price I'm paying now, and of course there are endless opportunities for hotel jobs down there. But I hate the fact that I would need something concrete and secure before I would actually move.

Its hard wanting to be spontaneous and daring, but at the same time not willing to give up a sure thing.

I guess things will stay in the wishful thinking stage as for now.

Maybe someday.

Appreciating the Art of Living Alone

Life has taken an interesting turn for me lately.
I am living alone and loving it. I love being able to come home and just have to worry about me. Its a great feeling because I know I can take care of myself.

I've also come to a point, for the first time in my life really, where I am absolutely not worried about boys and dating at all. I really could care less. I'm doing my own thing, living my life, and making myself happy, and let me tell you it is really a breath of fresh air. I'm not against dating. If I get asked out, hey, I'll go! Free meal if anything! HA! But no really, I'm not looking for a relationship which is really whats key here. I'm happy being me and being alone and its great.

I have absolutely NO drama right now and what a great feeling that is!

I'm thankful I was given the advice to at least live alone once in my life so that I could experience another side of life. I'm thankful to my friend/co-worker for giving me that advice.

There are a few concerns in my life... I don't think that will ever change, but as for now I'm just sort of seeing how they play out and not stressing over them.

I'm happy. Truly in a happy place. That has been my goal for so long, right? Well, I'm happy with my life. I'm being me, who I really am and its great!

Sorry about this being late thing month. I have been down and out with pneumonia since March 5th... ugggh! But better late than never I guess! Enjoy my March Madness!!
1. iPhone / Verizon

This month, at long last, I got my iPhone! I'm in love! It has especially proved handy while I spent so many days in bed this month while I was sick! If I wasn't addicted to my phone before, I defnitely am now! So many apps so explore! And I may have found something I'm addicted to even more than Facebook! I know right! Look for that on next month's obsession list!

2. The Kids Are All Right

This was an excellent movie! I am a supporter of gay/lesbian relationships, but it wasn't until I watched this movie that I was able to get a better understanding. It was a very entertaining/emotional movie and I give it two thumbs up and a very high reccomendation!

3. Charlie St. Cloud

I know this movie is a bit older, but I finally got around to watching it one night with my parents! We loved it! Definitely had me in tears and I highly reccomend you go watch it if you haven't!

4. San Antonio Trip

This month I went to visit Gabby (yes, while I was sick--I had a plane ticket I couldn't cancel). But it was such a fun time! We went to an awesome piano bar, went rafting down the Guadalupe river, went to six flags and visited the Alamo and riverwalk! San Antonio is a beautiful places, not to mention I got a bit of a tan which was great! It was fun to go visit Gabby, but I can't wait to have her home!

5. St. Patty's Day - Howl @ the Moon

On St. Patricks Day, Gabby and I went to Howl @ the Moon piano bar on the riverwalk. OH. MY. GOD. It was quite the experience! They have a drink there called the "bucket drinks" and let me tell you, WOW! Each bucket is 86 oz of liquor, and is meant for four people. Well, we got TWO of those buckets and only TWO of us drank them! I was DRUNK, to say the least. I had my first cab ride home from a bar which was an adventure! Thanks for a "forgettable" night that I will always remember Gabby!

6. Forgetting Sarah Mashall

I watched this movie for the first time while I was in Texas and it had me in fits of laughter the entire time! A definite must for my DVD collection!

1. Tavernacle
This month we spent a lot of time going to the Tavernacle for dueling pianos and karaoke night! I love the atmosphere here because its not your typical "tool bar" that I've been used to in SLC. Its way chill and a lot of fun. Not to mention we've got tons of 'free cover' passes here! The dueling piano players have already come to recognize me and love to make fun of me while I'm there! Its a great time and place to be with my friends!

2. 'Lie to Me' (Acoustic)

I've heard this song before of course, but I was recently shuffling through my iPod and came across the acoustic version and I have to say, so much better!!! Check it out for yourself HERE. Its so mellow and relaxing. I love it!!!

3. St. George

This month me and four of my closest friends took a road trip to St. George and Vegas. Out first day there we went hiking/rock climbing up to Dixie Rock and had a blast! This spot right here is just so peaceful. We all just sat there in silence taking in the view and thinking. It was a very special moment spent with my best friends. I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

4. Vegas

In Vegas, we went walking the strip before we went to the clubs, and we stopped at the infamous Bellagio fountains. It was only coincidence that the song playing when we stopped was 'Luck Be A Lady' by Mr. Frank Sinatra. It was the PERFECT feel for Vegas. It made me feel like I was in Vegas for my first time all over again and I was excited for the great night that lay ahead. It also made me wish I could have been in Vegas back in the old days when the Sinatra style was the lifestyle. I would have loved to live during that time period! 5. P!nk

Pink is always genious in my opinion, but this month I came accross an older Pink song and a newer Pink song that I've been completely obsessed with. The first is 'Glitter in the Air' and I went back and watched her PERFORMANCE at the Grammy's. Its absolutely amazing. She is truely such a talented artist and performer. The second song was 'F*ckin' Perfect' and all I can say is WOW. This song is so good and so full of hope. I truely commend Pink for writing this song because it says so much and I am so thankful to her for doing this song. Watch and Listen HERE. Even though my brother is in South Africa, I couldn't stand the thought of not celebrating his birthday. So I had my mom make him a cake and we had his favorite meal for dinner. We even sang to him and recorded a video for him to watch when he gets home. It was a special night, but it made me miss my brother so much more. Here is a picture of his special cake we made in his honor.

7. J.Wongs

For some random reason last week I was craving Chinese food. Anyone that knows me well, knows that I ususally don't much care for Chinese food. Boy has that changed! I went to J.Wongs Asian Bistro for lunch one day by myself and fell in love with their food! ESPECIALLY their Im Crab & Cream Cheese Wontons! Oh my God, they are DELICIOUS! So delicious that the next day I took my mom there, and the following day took my friends Amanda and Melissa there! haha. Definitely a new obsession :)

8. Asiago Creamyness

Also this month, for some random reason, I decided to be brave and try cream cheese on my bagel at work. I have never ever ever liked cream cheese on anything and for some reason this month, it struck a deal with my taste buds, and apparently that deal is that I eat as much cream cheese as I can find! haha. I've been addicted! So I went to Einsteins and bought a bucket of bagels and have been enjoying one for breakfast every morning! YUM!

9. The Seavers

This month I got all seven seasons of one of my old favorites Growing Pains. In the past two weeks I've watched every single episode! I forgot just how much I loved this show! It brought back memories of when me and my brother Chris used to watch. I grew up with this family and it was so fun to be able to re-live my childhood. Show me that SMILE! :)

10. 'ET'

One night when I was hanging out with my friends Mailee and Miranda, Mailee played this song for us and I fell in love! The next day I had it downloaded onto my iPod and a few hours later I had it blasting in my car on the way home from work. Its such a great driving song and Katy Perry has taken it to a whole other level with this new song of hers. Not to mention, Kanye West is great in this song! He's great in most all his songs, but this one truely is EPIC!

11. 'Not Strong Enough'

My favorite television program...

This one wasn't very hard at all. Although lately I've been more obsessed with other shows such as CSI: Miami and True Blood, my true alliance lies with Dr. House himself. I love the bastard. This show is definitely my all time favorite, nothing else can beat it. I am the proud owner of every single episode that is currently out on DVD and plan to continue buying them as long as they kepe making them! haha!

My favorite movie...

I thought long and hard about this one. Movies such as Dumb and Dumber, The Hangover, and RENT crossed my mind, but when I really think about it, 'French Kiss' is probably my all-time favorite movie. It is such a great show. My French teacher in Jr. High had us watch it one day in class and I fell in love! It has some great footage of France which I love, but I also love some of the great quotes!

My favorite song...(currently)

Right now, my favorite song is 'Glitter in the Air' by P!nk. I know its not a particularly new song, but I've recently become very addicted to every word and melody. This song is simple and pure, but its so powerful, and shows how much true talent P!nk has! She has quickly made her way up my list to one of my most favorite singers ever. The first time I heard this song was when she performed it at the Grammy's. I didn't know the song then, but I was completely captured by the imagery of her performance. This month, full of new and change! Take a look at what had my attention this month.

1. Smart Guy

This TV show was a favorite of me and my brother when we were younger. And thanks to a new website found that may or may not be, uh, (cough**) questionable ;) I was able to get this TV show in my excited little hands! They never did put this show out on DVD so this was the alternative I went with! Next on my list to buy is every episode of Growing Pains and Golden Girls!!! I'm so excited!

2. South Africa Pride

This month I finally got what I had wished I had gotten for Christmas, my very own South Africa flag!!! Since my brother is in South Africa, anything I can do or have that reminds me of him is very special to me! I've hung it in the window in my apartment(ooo, sneak peak?) and I love it! Its defintiely a conversation piece that lets me talk about my brother more, which I love to do! Not to mention I found it on Amazon.com come for 4 bucks when my parents paid 25 bucks for theirs! ;)

3. Picnik.com

This website is great! Its kind of an alternative for those of us who don't have our own computer with photoshop (my photoshop is sitting on a CD waiting patiently for me to get a new computer). I especially love the poloroid feature that this website offers! Its pretty fun! I've been using it a lot this month to make up different pictures, and this one is by far my favorite of the month! 4. SLC Library

This month since I'm closer to downtown(ooo, another sneak peak!), I've been going to the library a lot. Its a nice little trip I like taking alone. I ride trax and listen to my iPod and its some really nice alone time(I've had a lot of that lately). I'm addicted to the DVD section in the library! Movies for free!! Love it!

6. Brie

This cheese is definitely not new to my taste buds, but it has recently been visiting my refridgerator very often! I am in love with it! I first tried it in my jr. high French class and then once more a few years later in Florida with my friend. Its a tad bit expensive for how little you get, but I don't care... I'm in love!

6. Casa de Nicole

And now.... for the moment you've been waiting for, TA-DA!!!! My brand new (well for me anyways) apartment!!!! I moved this month into a place that is strictly just for me! Its a cute little studio apartment up in the avenues! I love it! My daily work commute is under 2 miles round trip which saves so much money on gasoline! Its been nice living alone. I've had a lot of time to think about me and what I want from life. It does get lonely at times, but compared to the alternative, it is the best choice for me.
7. ebay

Oh my gosh! I know I'm going to get the comments of "you know this website has been around forever" and "seriously, you just realized that?" but honestly, I really just did realize how amazingly cool ebay is!!! I've been bidding like crazy on earrings! They are so cheap and if you can get shipping included, you can get a pair of earrings next to NOTHING!

8. The Barone's

Since I have been going to the library so much and since I have so much time to myself this month, I've decided to check out all the series of Everybody Loves Raymond! This show is also not new to my viewing pleasure, but I never get tired of watching. It provides good company and laughter for when living alone gets a little bit lonely. :)
9. 'Someday'

I got myself a memebership at Planet Fitness and I've been going and working out! I love it! I feel so energized and my body feels great! Best part is that its pretty damn cheap! 20 bucks a month for unlimited work out, unlimited tanning, and unlimited guest passes! SCORE!

11. Lesbians of the Meadow

Last, but definitely not least, is the new painting that sits on the opposite wall of my desk in my office. My co-worker and friend Casey decided to give it the name "lesbians fo the meadow" and now I can't look at the painting anymore without laughing! He's come up with a whole story about the painting and everything. Its things like this that keep me laughing and being able to come to work with a positive attitude. Thanks for making this place bearable Casey!

Life is one of those things that you just have to keep going through because you can NOT give up.

My life, right now, is all of those things, but with everything that has happened over the past few months, I still somehow find a way to hold my head up and look forward.

I left George after that one fearful night. I've never been so scared for my life before. He said it had never happened before and that it would never happen again... but I can't let myself take that chance.
But, I'm living alone now which is great! I have my own cute little stuido apartment in the avenues and I'm living the life I've wanted to live for so long! I'm a city girl at long last! My daily commute is under 3 miles round trip!

I got a gym membership at Planet Fitness and I havne't missed a day of going to the gym and working out! I feel great inside and have so much energy!

I have an amazing group of friends that are always there for me and support me no matter what! I can't wait for our spring filled with vacations to places like St. George, Moab, and San Antonio Texas!

Life is painful.
Life is VERY much confusing.
But I'm taking control of my life and I'm enjoying it, trying to make peace with the universe and be a good person.

I'm not an alcoholic, but these Cherry Lime Sparklers at California Pizza Kitchen sure could turn me if I had an unlimited supply! They are amazingly delicious! I always get them now anytime I am lucky enough to go to CPK!

I first heard this song like 3 months ago, but it didn't really get popular til just recently and I've fallen in love with it all over again. I love David Guetta, his beats are sick! I've been absolutely addicted to GSN week night lineup. Every day I have been coming home from work and watching Family Feud, then The Newly Wed Game, followed by Baggage. Its so addicted and a total waste of time, but I couldn't pull myself away all month long! Damn you game shows! haha.

So I am guitly of skipping right to the Nicki Minaj verse of this song sometimes, but the overall song is good too. I'm just saying that Nicki Minaj is genius!!! I don't think the official music video has been released yet, so thats why THIS ONE is such bad quality, but take a look and listen anyways. Its bomb!

6. 'Sing'

Well its no secret that MCR is one of my absolute favorite groups! They recently released their new album and so far my favorite single is this song. Its so good and reminds me just how much I love their music! The music video is kinda interesting too. Typical MCR, but I love it!!! Take a LISTEN.

7. Out Cold

I watched this movie with Jordon and Johnny a couple weeks ago while we chilled, smoked huka, drank Jordon's infamous drink, and chowed down on chips and salsa. I was skeptical because its a snowboarding movie and I'm not usually into those kinds of movies, but it did in fact keep me entertained. It has Zach Galifianakis in it so I think thats what kept my interest at first, but it turned out to be a pretty good movie!

8. 'Only Girl (In the World)'

If you haven't heard this song or seen this video, watch NOW! I really like this song. And its not y our typical Rihanna music video as of late which is what I really like. She shows her total girly side which I find pretty cool. She's had this bad-ass feel to all of her recent videos (which don't get me wrong, I totally LOVE!!!), but this was just a little different flavor. She's quickly become one of my top favorite this year. She's absolutely amazing!

My Year in Review - 2010

2010 went by incredibly fast for me. My life changed in many ways. I became more comfortable in my own skin, I found out what a true friend means, and I had an overall great time being me! Take a look at my 2010 highlights!

january - 10

January started off with my cousin Ryan and his friends Andrew and Jessie here. They are from Arizona so I had a great time showing them around freezing cold Utah! We went sledding, I took them to experience the Pie, and we even went to the planetarium! January was also the month I met Gabby through Jordan and started hanging out with them more! It was a great start to a new year!

february - 10

In February, I indulged in one of my hobbies a bit more and took some of my friends out to an old abandoned house to do what ended up being a way fun photoshoot! February also brought a fun party that Gabby put on at her house! We did a black and white masquerade! It was so much fun! Later in the month I flew to Arizona to spend Valentines day with Andrew and visit my cousin Ryan. The day I got back from Arizona, I went up to Park City with some friends for a few days! It was a busy month, but very fun and I wouldn't have changed a thing!

march - 10

March marked my first tattoo! I was very nervous to get it, but it ended up not hurting as bad as I thought. The weekend after I got my tattoo, we went to Wendover for my best friend Laura's 21st first birthday and had a blast! I also went paintballing for my first time ever! March was a very sad month for me, because I had to say goodbye to my best friend and brother for two years. He is currently serving a mission in South Africa and it was so hard to say goodbye to him.

april - 10

In April, my cousin Randy passed away. I had just started getting close to him when he was taken. It was very sad and I miss him very much. We could have been such good friends. April also meant baseball, so I went to a Salt Lake Bees game where I had my first official baseball game beer! I was so excited! At the end of the month, I went to Vegas with some friends! I love Vegas, and trips down there are not only super fun, but necessary!

May was a party month. It started off with an awesome Cinco de Mayo party at Gabby's house! Then on mothers day I got to talk to my brother on the phone! Which was the highlight of my month on its own! haha. My best friend Brittany turned 21 and was able to come out to the bars with us finally. Other than that, the rest of the month was one party after another!

june - 10

In June, I crashed my baby on 89 in Bountiful. It had been a rough, rough day and this was just the cherry on top. June was also the month where the EPIC night of "drippy drops" originated! It was one hell of a time, and you had to have been there to really have appreciated it! haha. Towards the end of June we went on the most EPIC camping trip EVER! It was a total blast. I've never had so much fun camping! I also got a brand new 2010 Manda 3 to wrap up the month! I guess you could say it was a month full of EPIC proportions! :)

july - 10

In July I got my second tattoo! It was done really fast, I was only in the tattoo parlor for maybe 20 minutes! It was great! July was also the birth of "Christobear"!!! My mom made a bear and put my brother Chris' face and clothes on it so that I wouldn't miss him so much during the holidays. Christobear has atteneded every holiday since! Also this month was when George and I officially decided to be a couple. And at the end of the month was the Tim McGraw concert with my dad that we had been waiting for since his birthday in April! It was a great month, full of time spent with people close to me.

august - 10

In August, my friend Sophie came to visit from England! We went to Warped Tour and up to Pineview to ride jet skiis! She had a great time and it was great to be able to see her again. Also this month, we had one of the most EPIC parties my apartment in Bountiful had ever seen that month! It seriously would be very hard to top that party! If you weren't there, you definitely missed out! Also in August, my friend Chalee got married and my friend Glen got hom from his two year mission in the Dominican Republic!

september - 10

In September I went with my family and George to Zion National Park and Vegas over Labor Day weekend which was a blast! I never turn down a trip to Vegas! haha! Other fun events that month were the State Fair and Dew Tour! At Dew Tour I was able to meet Nick Cannon which was pretty dang awesome!!! September also had an amazing party night at Gabby's house where it sparked some of our favorite quotes that we always say now! haha. What a fun month!

october - 10

October was very controversial for some people that know me. I got into arguments and lost some friends and even a few family members, but I stood up for something I believe in and I felt great about myself for doing it! First my friends and I produced our own NO H8 photoshoot, which ended up turning out great! I also participated in a peace protest to show GLBT teens that they are not alone, that there ARE people out there that will accept and love them for who they are. It was a great night and something I am very proud to have been a part of. Also this month, I made it onto the main screen of EntertainmentWeekly.com!!! I entered my Halloween costume from last year and they picked it! My friend Casey's costume was also picked! And of course, Halloween this year was pretty amazing! George and I had some GREAT zombie costumes and we had one kick ass party with all of my closest friends!

november - 10

November was a great month and I spent so much time with my close friends and family. The new Harry Potter movie came out and Gabby and I got the Dark Mark tattoo on our arms for the midnight premier! It was pretty much awesome and looked so good! For my birthday I went to the Huka bar with my friends, and then spent the night at my parents house another night with dinner and cake. The day after my birthday was Thanksgiving and my mom's side of the family was up to celebrate with us! It was a very fun time!

december - 10

In December, my cousin Mason had his first birthday! He's finally started to like me and not cry when I try to hold him so it was so much fun to spend time with him! On the 18th, we celebrated Gabby's bachelorette party in a suite at my hotel! It was such a fun night and time that was very much needed for me and my best friends. On Christmas we got to talk to my brother in South Africa! It was so good to hear his voice! I miss him so much! I had a hard time not crying while he was on the phone, but I held it together well enough! haha. And finally, Gabby got married and we sent her off to Texas for the next 7 months. We are going to miss her so much, but we are so happy that she is finally with her man!

Its been a good year. Althought I lost some friends, I gained some friends that mean so much more to me. I appreciate them so much. I'm so thankful to have had the expericences I have had this year. Hats off to a great year, 2010, its been real; and cheers to ringing in 2011 tonight with my bests!

1. Women of SNL

This month, SNL had a special show highlighting the Women of SNL. It was great to re-live the moments of the great women that have graced our televisions with their comedic genius! I was in stiches throughout the entire program! They even played one of my favorites, the muffin skit! haha.
So funny!

2. Netflix

Oh, the beauty of that which is Netflix. I had this wonderful service at my apartment, but now that I'm living w/ George I decided to get it for my own! And its the best thing ever created! I've been, as my blog title says, obsessed! Adding movies, TV shows that I want to watch, its been great fun!

3. The Office

So, I used to think I hated this show, but a few months ago I watched a couple episodes and fell in love. This month, since I had my netflix account, I was greatly pleased to see that all the seasons of the Office were on instant que! Meaning I spent every Saturday, Sunday, and spare week night watching the Office from the start of season one, to where they are currently! Love, Love, LOVE this show!
4. John Krasinski

Watching this Office this month, I've developed a HUGE celebrity cruch on Jim (aka John Krasinski)! Pretty much, I'm insanely jealous of Pam. ;) haha
5. Jimmy John's

This month I decided to try the sandwich shop Jimmy John's. Their slogan is 'Subs so fast you'll freak!' Which is exactly what I did the first time I ordered from them online. Within 4 minutes of me pressing the submit button on my computer, the delivery guy was knocking on my office door to deliver my sandwhich! Crazy fast, and crazy good subs!

6. FaceInHole.com

I had forgotten about this fun website, but it was re-found this month and this was my favorite creation I made!

7. New! Milky Way

This month I've had a sweet tooth and the new Milky Way was definitely able to satisfy! I love caramel, so this candy bar was perfect for my taste! I better start to lay off tho, cuz they are wayyyy too delicious! haha!

8. Heart and Souls

Another shout out to Netflix! This month I was browsing through their movies when I came across one of my favorite old classics! I had no idea that Robert Downey Jr. was in it until I re-watched it this month! haha. I LOVE this movie! It was so much fun to curl up one night and reminise about my childhood! If you haven't seen this movie, its a definte must SEE!

9. Apple Cinnamon

This month at the Huka bar we tried a new flavor of shisha and OH. MY. GOD! Its seriously like "Christmas in your mouth!" haha. Thats what we tell everyone when we say they have to try it! haha. Delicious!

10. Fuzzy Navel

You would never guess that this drink has alcohol from the taste! Its a deliciousness of fruity goodness!! Grab a pack next time you are at the liquor store! (*Since we're in Utah and you can't buy this kind of stuff at the grocery store anymore... LAME!*)

11. YahooAnswers.com

This months guilty pleasure is yahooanswers.com. Quite rediculous really, but I've been addicted. The concept is you can ask any question you like and people can respond with their two cents. Whether its correct information, who knows, but it is quite addicting once you get going! haha.

12. Fire

I can, and indeed, HAVE, sat for literally hours in front of our fireplace throwing in paper, magazines, wood, and cardboard to keep our fire going. I'm somewhat of a pyro and it just facinates me to sit there and watch something burn. I might sound like a total freak right now, but its the truth! haha.

LOTS and LOTS of movies, music, and standing up for what I believe this month! Along with a pretty special and big step in my life! Check out my October!

1. My Promise Ring

On October 19th, my boyfriend George earned the top stop on my list for this month! haha. He surprised me with a promise ring! Its beautiful and I absolutely love it! It is 10k white gold, with a fire opal in the center, two pink sapphires on the side, and 10 little diamonds on the top and bottom. We got it sized and now it never leaves my finger! I love it! And I love him!!

2. 'Wanted'

One night earlier this month, my boyfriend, his son and I watched this movie that they had already seen, but it was new to me and I loved it! Its a very good movie and I am thankful my boyfriend owns it because it is definitely one that I will watch again. If you never heard about this movie watch a trailer of it HERE and if you haven't seen it, well I highly suggest you check this movie out!

3. 'Killers'

I rented this movie from Redbox this month and wasn't disappointed. It was a funny movie and I wouldn't mind adding it to my DVD collection. Check out a sneak peak HERE.

4. CPK

We had a girls night at the first of the month and we went to California Pizza Kitchen. I was feeling adventurous and tried a new kind of pizza and fell in love! It is their white pizza. ABSOLUTELY delicious! And it even has spinach on it, which yes, even surprised me in liking it!

5. NO H8

This month, a few of my friends and I got together to do a photoshoot for the NO H8 campaign.

6. Protest

Earlier this month I attended my first protest which was to show the LGBT community that there are those out there who will support who they are. It was such a great feeling to gather with 4500 other people and show support for something I believe in. With the few days leading up to the protest, things got pretty controversial, and there were debates going on EVERYWHERE! Even on my own facebook page! But the protest did happen and it was great to be a part of something bigger than myself.

7. '8'

This movie, although probably VERY controversial for most of my blog readers, was AMAZING. It was so powerful and so moving. My roommate and I finally were able to get it off our netflix and we watched it and absolutely loved it. It was very well done and I found myself shedding some tears because it was so emotional. If you have an open heart and mind, please watch this and try to be compassionate with something you might not understand.

8. 'The Social Network'

Oh man! The Facebook Movie! hahahha. This movie was so funny! Bascially because everything that happened or was said was something I can totally relate to! At one point a girl says "Don't look at that website, you will get addicted! I check mine like 5 times a day!" Oh if only I were to check my facebook a mere 5 times a day! Definitely check it out! Sums up facebook in a great way with a bunch of laughs!

9. Tetris

This month, my touch screen phone decided to die on me so I had to resort to a crappy generation 1 phone from T-mobile. While I absolutely hate my phone, I have found myself completely addicted to the Tetris game that came with the phone! When I first got a high score of 30,000 I never imagined my high score would now be 116,699! hahaha. Its quite rediculous how addicted I am to this game!

10. Family Guy

This month I finished getting caught up on ALL seasons of Family Guy. My boyfriend had all the seasons except the last one, so we ended up buying that and now I am all caught up. This show truely just makes me happy and I end up laughing a lot... even when I'm alone. haha!

11. True Blood:Season 1

So, I didn't jump on the 'True Blood Bandwagon' until about the 3rd episode of the second season, so this month I went back and watched the first season. I don't need to tell you I loved it because I'm sure you already know. It was good to go back and get a little more history behind my favorite Trubies! I will am definitely team Eric post season 1 though! That hair do has got to, and thankfully did, GO!

12. 'Jar of Hearts'

This video/song is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Easily made it to the top of my list of my favorite songs of all time. It is so good, and hits me so hard, and brings out so many different emotions inside of me, and describes one particular relationship of mine perfectly. I cry almost every time I hear it, which is a lot lately. Ms. Perri's voice is incredible as well. I can't wait to hear more music from her!

'Russian Roulette' by Rihanna was another one of those songs that just hit me extremely HARD when I first hear it. I was just driving and had the 'ol iPod on shuffle and stumbled upon a song that I had, but had never heard. haha. Its funny how I can have so many songs on my own iPod that I haven't even heard. This song is good, but my favorite part is Nicki Minaj. She is amazing. I love her voice and her attitude and how she's in just about every single rap song thats released it seems lately! She's great! Take a LISTEN!

16. Lil Wayne + Eminem = No Love

You take one Lil Wayne, add one Eminem, and you get the masterpiece collaboration of 'No Love'! Two of my favorite rappers together in one song, YES PLEASE! This song and especially sends a powerful message! The lyrics "Been to Hell and back, I can show you vouchers" is one that I've displayed as my status serveral times.
Its a great song. Great artists. Even greater music VIDEO.

17. 'Erase Me'

I just really like this song. That's all there is to is. McLovin making an appearance in the music video is pretty awesome too!

This month I've been reminising on better times, and back in the day all I used to listen to was My Chemical Romance. They are a great group and have a few songs on my list of top favorite songs ever! Its great to take a trip down memory lane with their songs and lyrics. Their music NEVER ever gets old to me. To those that take offense, I ask you to open your heart. I ask you to re-evaluate what is important in your life. Allowing gay marriage to exist is NOT hurting you.

I am glad we live in a country where we can make our own decisions and where we can decide how to live our own lives. I don't belive ANY religion or person has the right to try and dictate how you should live. Its your choice. Its your life. Live how you will and be happy. Thats the most important thing.

Lots and lots of music this month! As well as a few fun activites, a milestone date on my calandar and a new TV favorite! Check out what revolved around my month of September!

1. Date Night
Two comedic genuis' in my opinion, thrown together in one movie equals an epic performance! My boyfriend rented this movie for us from Redbox once night and him and his son ended up falling asleep while we watched. I had to cover my mouth more than a couple times to keep from laughing out loud and waking them. Future contender for my own personal DVD collection... I definitely think so!

2. The War at Home

My boyfriend and his son introduced me to this TV show that I had never heard of and that they happened to have on DVD and I can now say I am very much addicted! The horrible part is that this show only lasted for TWO seasons and only one of the seasons made it to DVD! Which is incredibly INSANE to me because of how funny this show is! I definitely wish it would have made it because I think a lot of people would enjoy it!

3. Zion National Park
This month for Labor Day weekend, me, George, his son Georgie, my parents and my brother Erik took a trip down south. We visited Zion National Park and Vegas. We were able to visit family members too which was very fun. But I'd have to say that the high light of our vacation was being able to sit in the back of my dad's truck driving through Zion National Park. It was beautiful and such a fun bonding experience for us. We got some great photos, some EPIC videos, and lots of fun memories!

4. 'Stuck Like Glue

Oh this song is just fun! I love the song, but it wasn't until I saw the music video on CMT that I really got addicted to this song. Take a watch/listen!

5. VMA Performance
Unfortunately I did not get to see this performance live with the rest of the country during the VMA's, but my roommate told me about it and I have been watching it constantly since! Not only is this one of my favorite songs right now, but I honestly believe that Eminem and Rihanna's voices together are the greatest duo I've ever heard! LOVE IT!

6. Six Month Mark
YES YES YES! It is TRUE! This month marked 6 months since my brother left for South Africa! It was truely an awesome mile stone for me! Only 18 months left and I will have my best friend back! I literally CANNOT wait! I miss my brother so so so much, and it seems like its been so much longer than 6 months since he's been gone, but its good to have a solid marking point! Love you Chrissy Boy!

7. 'If I Die Young'

When I first heard this song, I wasn't too sure how I felt about it. But the more and more I've listened to it, the more obsessed I've become with it. Its a great song that relaxes me when I listen. Take a watch/listen!

8. Utah State Fair

This month was the Utah State Fair. We took Georgie there for his 12th birthday and he had a blast. My parents and brother came with us as well. We went on rides, played games, and Georgie ended up winning a HUGE stuffed dog he named "Wrinkles" that is seriously almost as tall as he is! It was such a great night!

9. AST Dew Tour
This month, my boyfriend got us tickets to the AST Dew Tour which was a lot of fun. I went two of the days while him and his son went all four days. I got to watch some of the skateboard and biking which was awesome! I also was able to meet Bob Burnquist who I used to be when I would play Tony Hawk Pro Skater with my brothers on the Play Station! hahaha! I also met Nick Cannon at the U92 tent which was way cool!

10. 'I Will Not Say Goodbye'

13. TotoAfter a long awaited period, I have finally decided on a name for my wonderful new baby 2010 Mazda3! His name is 'Toto'! While some of you might think of the the cute little dog on the Wizard of Oz sparked my inspiration...

1. Kick Ass

This month my boyfriend and I rented 'Kick Ass' from Redbox! I LOVED IT! haha. It made me wish I could go back in time to being a little girl and develop some "kick ass" super hero moves of my own! I loved the costumes and just how the movie was composed! A definite MUST SEE and a definite addition to my movie collection!

2. 'Love the Way You Lie'

This. Music. Video. Oh. My!!! I loved this song back when I simply had heard it on the radio and off the album, but listening to the song and watching this music video takes it to a whole other level! Eminem paired with Rihanna was a GENIUS idea! Whoever thought of it, especially for this song, should get a pat on the back!

This month my roommate and I finished up True Blood season 2 through Netflix and we were very sad that we would have to wait almost a year until season 3 came out on DVD. Luckily I did not want to settle with that and I did some research! I found this site that allowed us to catch up on the current season 3 of True Blood!! I also turned my friend Casey onto the site so he has been able to catch up as well! Not only does this site have True Blood, but a lot of other shows too! Towards the end of the month we added HBO to our television package, so now we are right on track with the rest of the True Blood viewing world!

4. Visit From England

The return of the Sophie!!! This month my best friend came to visit from England! We spend 5 days having a blast! While she was here we went to Warped Tour, Pineview Resevoir, shopping and just having a great time! Thanks for coming to visit Sophie! I already miss you!

5. Joe Manganiello as 'Alcide'

So since we have been watching season 3 of True Blood, its only obvious that a new characted from this season would make it on my obsessions list! It doesn't hurt that he is GORGEOUS! haha! I know a typical vampire show always has werewolf, but True Blood's version of werewolf is more than typical, it is simply YUMMY!

6. 'Secrets'

Oh this song has been gracing my playlist all month long. Its sort of mellow, but very powerful at the same time. I can listen to it in any sort of mood and absolutely love it. If you haven't heard it, check it out HERE!

7. 'Power'

by Kanye West

This song, I know, is kind of weird and annoying, and so it the music video. I honestly was like 'WTF' while I watched the music video, but for some reason, I love listening to this song! Check is out and see what you think, HERE!

8. 'Get Off on the Pain'

by Gary Allen

Every once in a while there is a country song that comes along that will quickly and easily make it to the top of my playlist and this song by Gary Allen is one of them! I absolutely love it and its message. Its a power song for me. Check it OUT!

9. Butterfinger Crisp

This is my guilty pleasure of the month. One day at work I went over the gift shop to get something to satisfy my sweet tooth and it ended up having the opposite effect. Instead of satisfying the sweet tooth and moving on, it left me craving for one multiple times during the month. Yummy!!

10. The Cab

I saw the Cab perform at Warped Tour and fell in love! I still need to go pick up their CD, but I've downloaded a few songs to hold me over until then. They originate from Las Vegas and my favorite song of theirs so far is titled 'Vegas Skies'! Seriously amazing! If you're looking for new good music to mix up your playlist, definitely check them out!

11. The Sunstreak

The Sunstreak is another band I happened to stumble upon at Warped Tour. They didn't perform, but they sucked us into their booth and used their charm to convince me to buy a CD! What a great purchase that was! I have listened to this CD over and over again and its really great! I really hope these guys make it big because their music is excellent! Take a LISTEN!

12. Criss Angel

I've heard of Criss Angel before, I've even pretended to lick his abs at the wax museum in Vegas (HAHA), but it wasn't until this month when I finally knew why he was famous. I know, I know, I need to get out more, but OH MY GOSH! He is so cool! My boyfriends son and I spent a good 6 hours sitting watching season 1 of his show and my mind was just blown at the illusions and tricks he does! I definitely have a goal to go to Vegas and see his live show now!

13. Return From the DR

This month one of my best friends returned home from his LDS mission in the Dominican Republic! It was great to see him again and its been so fun being able to hang out and text like we hadn't lost two years! Welcome home Glen!!

My Summer Vacation

Back when we were in school we used to get a 3 month long summer vacation. Now that my life is work work and more work, I don't get the luxury of taking 3 months to relax and refresh. Instead, this year, I've had the past 5 days to fit in a whole summer's worth of fun! I took some vacation days off to enjoy time with my best friend, Sophie, who came to visit from England! We have had the best weekend ever!

The first high light of this "summer vacation" was the awesome party we had at my apartment last friday night! We had quite a few people over and we just hung out, played some pong, and just overall had a great time! This picture is of me and George from that night. It was a great way to start off my vacation!

The next stop for my "summer vacation" was 2010 Warped Tour with Sophie! There were so many great bands that performed and we had a blast wandering around to all the booths, covering ourselves in neon paint, and taking some awesome photos. It did rain on us for about 15 minutes, but other than that it was sunny and warm for most of the day! I also found a new band that I'm loving, The Cab! All in all, great day!

The last stop of the "summer vacation" was Pineview resevoir. We took Bracken's jet ski up and had a great time riding the waves, laying out on the beach and playing ball in the water. It was a cool experience because it was Sophie's first time on a jet ski and also her first time eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! I'm pretty sure everyone had a blast. I know I did. Jet ski's and beaches... perfection!

Thanks for coming to visit Sophie. I sure hope you had as much fun as I did and I am going to miss you even more when you leave to go home to England.
